Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

About the Role:
We are seeking a Junior Project Quantity Surveyor with 2-4 years of capital project experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the chemical, oil & gas, or energy sectors, particularly in heavy infrastructure projects. NEC4 contract experience is essential, as well as the ability to support the commercial aspects of large-scale engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial and QS support to live engineering and capital projects.
- Manage post-contract commercial management, ensuring effective cost control, monitoring, and payment of subcontract packages.
- Lead the procurement of major subcontract or works packages such as civil works and Mechanical & Electrical Installation.
- Oversee monthly cost reporting, end-life forecasting, and the management of variations.
- Engage in contract negotiations and compile Terms & Conditions documentation, including NEC4, ICHEMe, and other contract types.
- Contribute to commercial strategy and ensure adherence to best practices for major projects.
- 2-4 years of project QS experience in capital projects.
- Experience within the chemical, oil & gas, or energy sectors is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with NEC4 contracts and related documentation.
- Knowledge of post-contract commercial management and procurement processes.
- RICS qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Strong negotiation skills and a good understanding of commercial strategy on large projects.
- Competitive salary between £30,000 - £40,000.
