- Description
- Our client is a major fabrication company for the offshore industry. Due to growth they are now looking for a Rolling Stock Coordinator to work from their busy North East facility. This position is ideally suited to someone from a Materials/Production Planning or Logistics Coordination background. Experience with fleet planning would be desirable but is not essential.
THE ROLE
- Oversee daily fleet operations on-site, coordinating with all departments to meet their needs and ensure uninterrupted production.
- Develop, manage and implement processes to maintain the smooth and safe operation of vehicles on-site, ensuring vehicles comply with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
- Assess, recommend, and justify new equipment purchases to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
- Monitor fleet expenditure and make decisions based on long-term financial projections, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation whilst presenting cost saving strategies.
- Analyse fuel and fleet usage and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize performance.
- They will collaborate closely with the maintenance team to schedule, resolve, and react to any issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous operation to maximize productivity.
- They will be required to support the Transport Manager and Transport function with the daily collection of information and realignment of site transport plan when required
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Material planning/production planning or logistics coordination background would be ideal for this role.
- Ability to communicate effectively between different departments
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
- Self-starter – someone who can proactively seek out information
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- A keen interest in learning site operations to understand departmental needs.
- Excellent timekeeping.
- Safety and quality-driven mindset.
- IPAF desirable but not essential
- IOSH desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of industrial vehicles and relevant legislation would be preferable
- Degree level qualification highly desirable but not essential
