We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to join a leading engineering company based in Cramlington. This role is crucial for ensuring that all project-related documentation is accurately stored, tracked, and made available to both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a standardized and systematic approach to the retention and storage of all project documentation.
- Liaise with both client and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate availability of documents across the project.
- Offer technical consultancy on project-related issues.
- Oversee the monitoring, recording, and filing of incoming and outgoing drawings and information.
- Manage client or third-party comments on documents and ensure timely distribution for implementation.
- Create technical submittals, trackers, and manage RFI submissions.
- Expedite the receipt, distribution, storage, and retrieval of project design documents.
- Maintain and update the project Master Document Registers in line with project requirements.
- Handle queries on document revisions, assist with drawing/document number requests, and submit engineering queries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and track revisions and document status.
- Provide support on document formatting, numbering, and ensure compliance with established quality assurance (QA) policies.
- Produce progress reports and attend weekly engineering meetings.
- Education: ONC or equivalent qualification required; degree-level qualification is desirable.
- Experience:
- Essential: Experience with Document Control Systems, proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
- Desirable: Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English.
- The position reports directly to the Head of Engineering and Construction.
